"These three new models feature the advanced technology to attain unsurpassed all-purpose farming productivity in today''s increasingly competitive agricultural markets," says Don Worner, division marketing manager, John Deere Wasterloo Works.There are several transmission options available on the new 7020 tractors, and all transmissions feature a left-hand reverser control for maximum productivity."All tractors can be ordered with the deluxe Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT). It is an option on the 7720 and 7820 tractors, and is standard on the 7920 tractor. IVT set new standards of productivity on the 7010 Series tractors and it will now be available on all 7020 Series tractors," Worner says.

Rating the riskIn Dane County, Wisconsin, the double-walled tanks are the containment system of choice, according to Bob Williams, marketing manager for the DanCo ES Co-op. "With this system, you don''t get a buildup of water in the containment dike," he says. While he has installed five of the fuel tank systems in the past year, Williams admits many producers are hesitant to make the investment. "We try to get them to go with some type of containment because long-term we think they will need it. We provide financing to ease the cost," he says.

In Europe these tools are known as Tirfor hand winches. In the US they are branded Griphoists. They are also sometimes sold as scaffold hoists. This diversity indicates their astounding versatility for moving heavy things by hand. They do the work of motorized winches--haul logs, or move stuck tractors, raise towers, and so on--but with the deftness of a human hand. Because there is no ratchet or coil, a Griphoist permits very small adjustments, unlike either come-alongs or winches. The patented double-grip mechanism of the Griphoist/Tirfor is considered so reliable that some versions of the unit are rated by the UL to be suitable for hoisting humans--for instance in hoisting window-washers'' scaffolding.

Though light in weight, Airbor magnetic drill has a powerful 1.6-hp air motor and 1,600-lb magnetic holding strength. With its extra rack, stroke length is extended to 10 1/4 in. Annular cutter capacity is up to 2 1/16 in. diam. Geared chuck adapter converts the unit to a standard drill press. The Slugger Air Force pneumatic drill, at 24 lbs, 6 1/4" high, is useful for confined area drilling. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters. These cutters'' geometry allows the operator to drill multi-layered truck frames in a single pass.
